ABOUT CAMERA SET PICTURES

Jason Wheeler is a photographer based in Elkhorn, NE—though his path here took a few interesting turns along the way.
His love for capturing people started in a pretty meaningful way, creating a video for his grandfather’s funeral. That moment stuck, and before long, it led him out to Los Angeles where he spent 15 years working as a Studio Grip on sets like New Girl and Downsizing. Basically, he helped make movie magic happen… just usually behind the scenes and carrying really heavy things.

Life eventually brought him back to Omaha—thanks to meeting his wife and wanting to be closer to family during his mom’s battle with cancer. These days, he’s home with his wife and two daughters—Josie (8) and Samantha (5)—who keep life busy, loud, and a lot of fun. They’ve also made him very experienced in negotiating smiles and patience… which comes in handy during photo sessions.
Along the way, Jason picked up a few awards, including 2020 Senior Photographer of the Year through the Professional Photographers of Nebraska, earned his Certified Professional Photographer degree, and is currently working on his Masters of Photography—so yeah, he knows what he’s doing, even if he keeps things pretty laid back.

Now, he focuses on capturing real moments for real people. Whether it’s seniors, families, or athletes, his goal is simple: create photos that feel natural, look great, and actually mean something years down the road.
